The story of ten people living in the land of permafrost. A story about people who have lost their dreams and time passes them by on barren considerations about real life, which, supposedly, is waiting for them somewhere else. About the great search and desire for love, but also about the failure of this search. In Anton Chekhov's world, everyone loves, but unfortunately not who they should, they are loved, but not by those they desire. The characters do not have enough courage to pursue their dreams, and if they do make these attempts, they fail and remain tragically vulnerable in their loneliness. But "The Seagull" is also a story of unfulfilled love for art, a reflection on its essence and meaning, as well as on the condition of the artist himself. The work of the classic of Russian literature is today considered the quintessence of the mastery of dramatic art. On the Gniezno stage, his most beautiful drama, with the most tragic of comedies, will be confronted by Maria Spiss, well known to Gniezno audiences as the director of the excellent play "Who is afraid of Virginia Woolf?".
